Lenkom in Moscow

The Moscow State Theater "Lenkom Mark Zakharov" was founded in 1927.

A little later in 1937, it was merged with the Ruben Simonov Theater Studio and received the name "Moscow State Theater named after Lenin Komsomol".

For a long and wonderful forty-six years, starting in 1973, it was directed by the outstanding Soviet and Russian director Mark Anatolyevich Zakharov. At the end of 2019, the famous theater was named after its famous director, who passed away in the same year.

At various times, the Lenkom Theater became home to many outstanding artists. Alexander Shirvindt, Mikhail Derzhavin, Alexander Zbruev, Valentin Gaft, Vsevolod Larionov, Lev Durov, Olga Yakovleva, Inna Churikova, Nikolai Karachentsov, Elena Shanina, Oleg Yankovsky have repeatedly played on his stage. The repertoire includes productions based on the works of classics of drama such as Ostrovsky, Moliere, Chekhov, Ibsen, Brecht, A. Tolstoy, Beaumarchais, Gorin, Goldman, Dickens. Tragedies, ironic comedies, tragicomedies, and even fairy tales for young viewers ("Golden Key", "Bremen Town Musicians") – this scene has seen a lot!

In the theater season of 2022, which will begin in the fall, the audience will also see new works by "Lenkomov". One of them is the play "Profitable Place", the recent premiere, which caused a lot of enthusiastic responses.
