In Alexander Lazarev's version, instead of Evgeny Leonov, who brilliantly played the role of Tevye from 1989 to 1994, his son Andrei now appears on stage. In the second cast she is played by Sergei Stepanchenko. The new Tevyes are in no way inferior to Tevye Leonov Sr., for whom this role was the last in his life.
