Vladimir Yumatov

Vladimir Yumatov was born on May 19, 1951 in Moscow, in a family where there was a love of acting.


From an early age, he was attracted to music and theater. He studied at the Moscow Military Music College until the eighth grade. After serving in the army, Vladimir entered the Faculty of Philosophy at Moscow State University, from which he successfully graduated with a PhD in Philosophy. His career in acting began at the Moscow State University Student Theater under the direction of Roman Viktyuk.


In 1983, Mark Rozovsky invited him to join the troupe of the Nikitsky Gate Theater. Here Yumatov participated in productions such as: "Anna Karenina. Lecture" (the role of Karenin), "Hamlet" (Polonius), "Go-go-Gogol. The New Inspector General" (Kopeikin), as well as in the novella "The Diplomat" from the play "Doctor Chekhov", and many others. Among his roles are Serebryakov in "Uncle Vanya", Holstomer in "The Story of a Horse", Ivan Nikiforovich in "How I.I. quarreled with I.N.", A policeman in "A Novel about Girls", as well as characters in the plays "Chekhov's Jokes", "The Impostor", "The Living Corpse" and "Viva, Perfume!".
