The play “Juno and Avos” in Lenkom is a landmark cultural event that has become a symbol theater The production by director Mark Zakharov, set designer Oleg Sheintsis, choreographer Vladimir Vasiliev, based on the text by Andrei Voznesensky and music by Alexei Rybnikov, was first presented to audiences in the early 1980s. Since then, the play has successfully toured around the world, including France, the USA, Germany, Israel, Greece and Denmark.
For many years, the leading role of Count Rezanov was played by Nikolai Karachentsov. After him, this image was embodied by Viktor Rakov, Dmitry Pevtsov and Semyon Shkalikov. The role of Conchita, originally played by Elena Shanina, was also played by various actresses, such as Alena Khmelnitskaya, Inna Pivars, Anna Bolshova and others. Currently, the roles are performed by Alexandra Volkova and Alena Mitroshina.
Over the years, the production has undergone changes, including at the request of director Mark Zakharov, who asked Andrei Voznesensky to change one of the lines of the final song. The play has collected more than 1,700 performances, which indicates its popularity and significance for viewers.
