The Last Summer performance at the Theatre of Nations: Immersion into the atmosphere of the early 20th century

The Theatre of Nations in Moscow, with its rich history and architectural splendor, invites viewers to a thrilling performance of "The Last Summer". Founded in 1987 as the State Theatre of Friendship of Peoples, it has become a magnet for drama and art lovers. Since 1992, the theatre has had its current name and continues to delight audiences with a variety of productions.

The play "The Last Summer", directed by Danil Chashchin, is based on the script "Kuokkala" by Anna Kozlova. The action takes place at the beginning of the 20th century in the resort village of Kuokkala, now known as Repino. This place was a favorite summer vacation spot for Petersburgers during the First World War.

The plot centers on Anna, the wife of an officer. Among her entourage is a doctor neighbor, a teenage son and a husband who suddenly returned from the front. In the company of close relatives and servants, they spend their evenings in the spirit of Chekhov's characters: discussing the fate of their homeland, philosophizing and holding spiritualistic sessions. However, their idyllic world is gradually destroyed under the onslaught of a new cruel time.

On one of these evenings, the heroes begin a recitation competition for the title of "Arbiter of Grace". The guests read poems from a fashionable collection, arguing about the style and expressiveness of the works. But everything changes when they decide to tell fortunes with Tarot cards. The predictions turn out to be frighteningly gloomy and concern the future of famous poets - Yesenin, Bunin, Gumilev and other frequent guests of Kuokkala.

Feel the atmosphere of the early 20th century and immerse yourself in the dramatic story of the heroes of the play "The Last Summer". Don't miss the opportunity to become part of this event - buy tickets for the play "The Last Summer" on our website right now. Discover the world of theater and art with the Theater of Nations!
