Soon, happy moments will disappear forever, friendships will turn to enmity, and some of the great poets of that era—Sergei Yesenin, Nikolai Gumilyov, Osip Mandelstam—will end their lives quite tragically. Although the plot sounds sad and dramatic, director Daniil Chashchin emphasizes that the goal of the play is not to frighten the audience with horrors, but to remind them that in difficult times, it is art and poetry that give people hope and meaning in life. Many viewers note the numerous references to the works of the Russian classic A.P. Chekhov.
