On November 13 and 14, the musicAeterna orchestra conducted by Teodor Currentzis and violinist Olga Volkova will perform works by Brahms and Shostakovich in the Zaryadye Concert Hall (Moscow).

This evening, the audience will be treated to two difficult but interesting works. The first is by Brahms and is called "Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major". Brahms created this concerto as a dedication and gratitude to Joseph Joachim, a brilliant violinist of the century before last. It was he who once introduced Brahms to the Schumann couple, who later played a significant role in his life. The concerto turned out to be so difficult that only the most gifted and courageous musicians undertake to perform it to this day. Olga Volkova is one of them. Arriving from the deep provinces, she managed to attract the attention of the brilliant conductor Mstislav Rostropovich, later - to take the position of accompanist at the Mariinsky, and then at the Mikhailovsky Theater, and also to become one of the most famous performers of our time.
