Teodor Currentzis

Teodor Currentzis is a prominent Greek and Russian conductor, musician, actor and poet whose career spans many significant cultural events and projects. He is the founder and artistic director of the orchestra and choir musicAeterna, as well as the musical director and principal conductor of the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre from 2004 to 2011. From 2011 to 2019, Currentzis was the artistic director of the Perm Tchaikovsky Opera and Ballet Theatre, where he also continued to develop musicAeterna. In 2019, he made musicAeterna an independent ensemble, placing it in St. Petersburg.

Since 2018, Teodor Currentzis has been the principal conductor of the Southwest German Radio Symphony Orchestra. He has also been the artistic director of the Diaghilev Festival since 2012. Currentzis actively collaborates with the world's leading orchestras, including the Berlin Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra. His participation in international festivals such as the Salzburg Festival and the Lucerne Festival confirms his status as one of the most influential conductors of our time.
