Silver Strings Orchestra in Saint Petersburg, Small Hall of the D.D. Shostakovich Philharmonic

This evening, the magnificent Russian folk orchestra "Silver Strings" will present its new performing version of the famous "Pictures from the Exhibition" and a fragment from the opera "Boris Godunov" by Modest Petrovich Mussorgsky.

The Silver Strings Orchestra is a youth collective of the A.I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University and deserves special attention. For 25 years he has been delighting the public with his performances not only in Russia, but also abroad. Under the guidance of artistic director and conductor Alexander Afanasyev, the orchestra will present a variety of programs, including both domestic and foreign classics. The soloists of the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music will also perform on stage, who, thanks to the experience and talent of the leading soloists of the musical theaters of St. Petersburg, will give additional charm to the beautiful music.

A special guest of the evening is the female choir "Maitrise Gabriel Fauré de Marseille" from Marseille, France. Founded in 1948, the choir has already managed to please audiences in Europe, Canada and Japan with its music. The collective under the direction of Denise Vial performs Renaissance works, compositions of the XX century and folk music of Provence and Corsica. Together with the Silver Strings Orchestra, the choir has already performed several times in St. Petersburg, and the future concert promises to be even more impressive and emotional.
