Performance "The Trial" at the Alexandrinsky Theater is a production created by Attila Vidnyansky, artistic director of the Hungarian National Theatre. This is the second performance staged by Vidnyansky at the Alexandrinsky Theater. The first performance based on the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky “Crime and Punishment” was presented in 2016 and received high marks from critics.
The theme of the play “The Trial” based on the novel of the same name by Franz Kafka. The production conveys the atmosphere of absurdity and chaos characteristic of Kafka's works. The set design, developed by Maria and Alexey Tregubov, emphasizes the disunity and fragmentation of the world in which the main character exists.
