The play «Crime and Punishment» at the Alexandrinsky Theater is an outstanding production based on the novel by F.M. Dostoevsky, created by one of the most significant directors of modern Eastern Europe, Attila Vidnyansky. This production was the director’s first work on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre and has already won recognition, receiving the Russian National Theatre Award «Golden Mask» for the best supporting actor, performed by Dmitry Lysenkov.

Attila Vidnyansky, artistic director of the Hungarian National Theatre, is known for his deep understanding and interpretation of classical works. His production of «Crime and Punishment» explores the eternal questions of existence, freedom and faith raised by Dostoevsky. For the director, this novel is not just a literary work, but also an important philosophical treatise that remains relevant to modern society.

Vidnyansky graduated from the directing course of the Karpenko-Kary Theatre Institute in Kyiv and has since made a brilliant career in the theatre arts. In Hungary, he reformed the repertoire of several theatres, organised festivals and became the artistic director of the Hungarian Opera in Budapest. The St. Petersburg audience is already familiar with his works thanks to the International Theatre Festival «Alexandrinsky».

Don't miss the opportunity to see this outstanding production on the stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre. Buying tickets on our website is the best way to ensure your place at a performance that will not leave you indifferent.
