Kourentzis and musicAeterna, Bruckner. Symphony No. 9 — concert at Lahta Hall

This evening you will be able to feel the magic of classical music, which will be created by the musicAeterna orchestra under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. The musicians will perform Symphony No. 9 by Anton Bruckner. The premiere of this symphony took place in Vienna in 1903 under the direction of Ferdinand Loewe, and it was very different from the original. Despite this, the work became one of the most famous in Bruckner's work. Today, Bruckner's symphony is performed in two variations, most often in the three-part format conceived by the composer himself. Being deeply religious, the composer put a desire for spirituality into his later works. The first part sounds like an epic battle, saturated with spiritual themes and percussion instruments.

The second part of the work is permeated with complex lyrical notes that demonstrate human humility before the greatness of higher powers. Here you can find many unusual images and visions reflecting the desire for truth. The third is divided into two main parts: the first speaks of acceptance of God's will and humility, and in the second one can hear a slight nostalgia for the times when the soul lived without searching and doubts.

A completely new look at classical music is offered by the musicAeterna orchestra under the direction of Teodor Currentzis. During the upcoming performance, viewers will be able to enjoy three parts of the symphony, which represent a complete work.
