About event
The AVlab program is starting on the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, aimed at researching and developing the audiovisual approach in live performances. This is a unique opportunity for viewers to get acquainted with collaborations between audio and media artists who will present multi-genre projects, give lectures and workshops.
The opening of the program will take place and will begin with a lecture by Alexey Shulgin, a famous artist, curator and teacher at the Rodchenko School and NUST MISIS. The lecture is entitled "Audiovisual interfaces and conceptual ideas. 1990s — 2000s" will tell about significant projects created at the turn of the millennium and their influence on the international context. Alexey Shulgin will share his experience and views on the development of audiovisual arts, which will be a valuable source of knowledge for all participants.
After the lecture, the audience will enjoy a sound performance featuring media artist and VJ Kamilya Yusupova (Kami Usu) and Alexey Shulgin. The performance will consist of two parts: an experimental noise set with a video sequence referring to early digital art, and noise dub, accompanied by an original video sequence generated in real time based on the cultural codes of the past.
