“Circle of Heaven” Dance Open in Saint Petersburg, Alexandrinsky Theater

Ballet «Circle of Heaven» will take place on April 17 at the Alexandria Theater as part of the Dance Open festival. This is a unique event that will introduce the audience to Li Pianpian's tender and sensual choreography, reflecting oriental culture.

The choreography of the performance is based on the traditional ancient Chinese concept of the world, where «The sky is round, the earth is square.» This symbolic element permeates the entire production and conveys the romantic idea of meeting and the possibility of meeting again if the end is the beginning.

The simplest hieroglyph is «宿» became the starting point for creating the performance. The author thought about the meaning of the journey back and goodbyes that leave a strong impression. Interestingly, we may be storing memories of our future selves without realizing it.
