The play "Blockade Diaries of the Alexandrinsky Theatre" at the Alexandrinsky Theatre is a heartfelt one-man show that reveals to the viewer unknown pages of the history of Leningrad during the years of the blockade. Honored Artist of Russia Semyon Semyonovich Sytnik created the production based on documentary materials that preserved the memory of those who remained in the city during the most difficult times.
The Alexandrinsky Theater, which became a refuge for more than 200 people during the siege, played an important role in their survival. Among them were 39 actors and theater workers who, for various reasons, were unable to leave the city. The life of the theater at that time was led by Nikolai Vladimirovich Levitsky, an artist and former officer of the tsarist army, whose honesty and sense of duty became a support for everyone who found themselves within the walls of the theater.
The production takes place on the historical stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater, which in itself is a living monument of history and culture. This is a unique opportunity to touch upon the events of those years through the prism of art and acting.
