Performance "The Great World of Ballet by Anna Pavlova" will take place at the Hermitage Theatre. This event is dedicated to the famous Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, whose image of “The Dying Swan” became a symbol of Russian ballet. The performance includes original performances recreated from surviving photo and film documents, as well as from the ballerina’s diaries.
The Hermitage Theater, the venue for the performance, is a historical theater in St. Petersburg. It is known for its unique architecture and acoustics, making it an ideal location for ballet performances.
The program of the performance is accompanied by a screening of rare photographs and newsreels that captured Anna Pavlova on stage, in the dressing room and in everyday life. This allows viewers to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the early 20th century and better understand the life and work of the great ballerina.
The original numbers choreographed for Anna Pavlova by Alexander Gorsky and Mikhail Fokin were recreated especially for this project. Many of these numbers were forgotten, but thanks to this project they found new life and returned to the stage. The artistic design of the performance includes nine paintings by St. Petersburg artist Daniyar Baybulatov, dedicated to Anna Pavlova.
