The performance "Mumu" at the Academic Maly Drama Theater - Theater of Europe, staged by director Veniamin Filshtinsky, is a landmark an event in the world of theatrical art. Based on the classic works of I.S. Turgenev, it combines elements of the story "Mumu" and the collection "Sketches of a Hunter". The story of the deaf-mute Gerasim and his faithful dog Mumu unfolds on stage through the prism of a buffoon's action, which smoothly turns into a serious and touching story.

The play, first presented in 1984, has been successfully running for more than thirty years, invariably arousing the interest of the audience. During this time, the young actors who participated in the first shows have become recognized masters of the stage. In 2016, the production was revived with a new cast of performers, including the dog Glasha, who continued the tradition of her predecessors Yuta and Romashka in the role of Mumu.

The Theater of Europe, where the play takes place, is known for its unique atmosphere and high level of performance. Situated in the centre of the city's cultural life, it offers viewers the opportunity to enjoy classic Russian literature in an unusual theatre format.
