Gleb Valerievich Podgorodinsky is a People's Artist of Russia and State Prize laureate, whose name is associated with outstanding theatrical achievements. Born in Moscow on April 3, 1972, he began his stage career at the Young Muscovite Theater, where his talent was recognized with his first award for the role of Ivan. In 1993, after graduating from the M.S. Shchepkin Higher Theatre School, Gleb joined the Maly Theater troupe, becoming one of its leading actors.

Podgorodinsky is known for his unique stage presence and ability to combine comedic elements with profound drama. His debut in P.O. Beaumarchais's "Criminal Mother" set the tone for many of his subsequent roles. His work in the production of "Woe from Wit" deserves special attention, where he presented Chatsky as a sincere and lively character, which resonated widely with audiences and critics.

Collaboration with director Sergei Zhenovach marked a milestone in Podgorodinsky's career. His roles in "Truth is Good, but Happiness is Better" and "The Imaginary Invalid" demonstrated his eccentricity and talent for buffoonery. For his role as Platon Zybkin, he was awarded the State Prize of Russia.

Today, Gleb Podgorodinsky has approximately 30 roles in the classical repertoire to his credit, each of which is distinguished by his versatility and individuality. From the cheerful Pavel Gruntsov to the cynical Shchetkin, all of his characters evoke a wide range of emotions in audiences.
