Nikolay Tsiskaridze

Nikolay Tsiskaridze is a bright star of Russian ballet, whose achievements and career are truly admirable. He was born on December 31, 1973 in Tbilisi and began his career in the world of dance at the Tbilisi Choreographic School. Later, he continued his studies at the Moscow Academic Choreographic School. In 1992, Nikolay joined the Bolshoi Theater troupe, and three years later, in 1995, he became a principal. Among his mentors were such legendary figures as Galina Ulanova and Marina Semenova.

In addition to his brilliant performances on stage, Tsiskaridze was actively involved in teaching. In 1996, he completed his studies at the Moscow State Choreographic Institute, receiving the qualification of a teacher-tutor. Since 2005, he has shared his skills with young artists of the Bolshoi Theater, working there as a teacher-repetiteur.

Since 2013, Nikolai Tsiskaridze has been acting rector of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in St. Petersburg, and since 2014 he has officially held this post. His contribution to the development of ballet has been recognized with numerous awards, including the title of People's Artist of Russia and State Prizes of the Russian Federation.
