Elena Popova is an outstanding Soviet and Russian theater and film actress whose career spans decades and leaves an indelible mark on the country's cultural history. Born on April 17, 1956 in Leningrad, Elena showed an interest in acting from an early age. In 1979, she graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography, where she studied under the guidance of R. Agamirzyan.

Since 1978, Elena Popova has been an artist at the State Academic Bolshoi Drama Theater named after G. A. Tovstonogov, where she has embodied many striking roles, winning the recognition of both colleagues and viewers. Her film debut took place in 1974 in the documentary film "The Raven Has a God...", and her first leading role came in 1980 in the film "The Lilac Bush", based on the work of A. I. Kuprin.

Elena Popova was awarded the title of People's Artist of Russia in 1999, which confirms her significant contribution to the development of Russian theater art. In 2004, she was awarded the "Pushkin Medal", and also became the owner of the prestigious theater awards "Golden Sofit" and "Golden Mask".
