"Arkhip Kuindzhi. The Illusion of Light" – a unique exhibition of the great master in St. Petersburg
The exhibition "Arkhip Kuindzhi. The Illusion of Light" has opened in St. Petersburg. It is dedicated to one of the most brilliant and enigmatic artists of the Russian landscape school. The exhibition traces the master's career – from his earliest works to famous paintings such as "Moonlit Night on the Dnieper," "Lake Ladoga," "Rainbow," and "Night," which are now part of the collection of the Russian Museum.
The Russian Museum holds the largest collection of Kuindzhi's works in the world – over 200 paintings, spanning all stages of his career. The exhibition features both the museum's own masterpieces and rare paintings from other museums across the country, previously undisplayed in St. Petersburg. This makes it a unique opportunity to see the full spectrum of the master's artistic legacy.
The exhibition is housed in the Benois Wing of the Russian Museum, which features over 150 works. Contemporaries called Kuindzhi "an inventive genius," and Ilya Repin noted: "The illusion of light was his god, and no artist equaled him in achieving this miracle of painting." Visitors will be able to appreciate how the master created incredible lighting effects, conveying the mood of nature and atmosphere on canvas.
The exhibition offers a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of light and color, understand the subtleties of the artist's technique, and experience the magic of his landscapes. Each work seems to come to life before the viewer's eyes, allowing one to experience the grandeur of Kuindzhi's artistic talent.
On our website, you can purchase tickets to the exhibition "Arkhip Kuindzhi. The Illusion of Light" and personally see the works of one of the most outstanding artists of the 19th century. Don't miss the opportunity to touch the masterpieces of Russian landscape and experience the power of light that made Kuindzhi a legend.
