Baku is preparing to host the 17th stage of the Formula 1 Grand Prix!
Formula 1 races in Baku always delight spectators with their spectacularity and unexpected turns of events. The Baku City Circuit is known for its long straights, where the cars reach maximum speed, and difficult turns, requiring a high level of skill from the pilots. This year, all ten teams of the championship will take to the start, each of which will put up two drivers. Among them are the current world champion Max Verstappen from the Red Bull Racing team, his colleague Sergio Perez, seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes together with George Russell, as well as Ferrari representatives Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz. Other bright participants should not be overlooked: Lando Norris from McLaren and Fernando Alonso from Aston Martin, who are capable of surprising.
The Baku track is a real test for both the drivers and their cars. Here, it is not only the engine power on long straights that plays a decisive role, but also the reliability of the braking system in difficult corners. The teams will carefully prepare their cars, striving to achieve the perfect balance between speed and control. The tire supplier for Formula 1 since 2011, Pirelli, will provide the teams with its innovative tires so that they can show their best on the track.
The race weekend promises to be full of adrenaline and cultural events in the heart of Baku. We recommend buy tickets for the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix now on our website. On race days, the capital of Azerbaijan turns into a magnet for motorsport fans from all over the world. Fan zones, live music concerts and gastronomic festivals create a unique festive atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy not only the race, but also the beauty of the city.
Last year, Oscar Piastri in a McLaren won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. Charles Leclerc in a Ferrari finished second, and George Russell in a Mercedes took third place. We will find out very soon who will be the winner of this season.
Over the past seven years, no driver has been able to win twice in a row in Baku. Six different pilots have won here: Nico Rosberg, Daniel Ricciardo, Lewis Hamilton, Valtteri Bottas, Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen. The only two-time winner is Perez with triumphs in 2021 and 2023. His experience makes him one of the favorites for the upcoming race. However, the competition will be tough: Verstappen, Hamilton and other drivers are looking to add the Baku track to their list of victories. The fight for leadership here continues until the last meter of the distance - the skill of the drivers and the coordinated work of the teams will be the key to success on the Baku podium.
In addition, Sergio Perez is the record holder for the number of podiums in Baku; he finished in the top three here five times. For comparison: his teammate Max Verstappen only got into the top three twice on this track.
