Unique performance «Kholopy»: immerse yourself in the atmosphere of noble Russia
The unique performance «Kholopy» of the great Tovstonogov Drama Theater will take the audience back to 1801, to the era of noble Russia. It is based on the play by P.P. Gnedich, a famous playwright of the late XIX - early XX century.
The action of the play unfolds in the Plavutin-Plavuntsov family living in St. Petersburg at the court of Emperor Paul I. The main character, Princess Catherine Plavutina-Plavuntsova, has been in a wheelchair for four years. In honor of her and her beloved dog Byutka, she accepts birthday greetings. However, the usual festivities are disrupted by the unexpected appearance of Stepan Pereydonov, a former serf from the Plavutin family, who has arrived from Paris with "some urgent business".
The play «Kholopy» combines elements of historical chronicle, psychological melodrama and tragicomedy. Andrei Mighty's authorial approach gives this performance a special depth and appeal.
Do not miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in the exciting atmosphere of noble Russia and enjoy the work that fascinates with its depth and intrigue. Purchase tickets on the website of our theater and plunge into the unique world of «Kholopy».
