Unique performance "Mother's Heart" at the Bolshoi Drama Theater named after G.A. Tovstonogov — This is a story about the power of maternal love and unshakable faith in justice. The production, created by Andrei Moguchiy based on the stories of Vasily Shukshin, texts by Nicholas and Helena Roerich, as well as poems by Kozma Prutkov, is a deep dive into the Russian soul and its values.
The plot of the play revolves around the story of a simple Russian woman, Avdotya Gromova, who, on her old Ural motorcycle, goes to Moscow to save his son Vitka from prison. Along the way, she meets many people, each of whom has their own destiny, their own story, their own grief. But a mother’s heart — big, strong, endless, like a country, — helps Avdotya overcome all difficulties and ward off troubles from everyone she meets. The only question is whether she can save her son.
The production involves artists from different generations of the Bolshoi Drama Theatre, from folk artists to students of Andrei Moguchy’s workshop. Among them — Nina Usatova, Andrey Feskov, Victor Knyazhev, Grigory Chaban, Yulia Deinega, Dmitry Vorobyov, Anatoly Petrov, Sergey Losev, Evgeny Chudakov, Yuri Itskov, Maria Lavrova, Alexander Ronis, Olga Vankova, Gennady Blinov, Maryana Karpova, Nikita Vasiliev and many others .
