Lada is a Russian professional hockey club based in the city of Togliatti, Samara region. The club, founded in 1976, is a two-time Russian champion and European Cup winner. In the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 seasons, as well as from 2014/2015 to 2017/2018, Lada played in the Kontinental Hockey League. And for the 2023/2024 season the team returned to the KHL again.
Avangard is a Russian professional hockey club from the city of Omsk, which also plays in the KHL. The club is the champion of Russia in 2004 and 2021, winner of the Gagarin Cup in 2021 and the European Champions Cup in 2005. They also became silver medalists in the KHL and the Russian Championship in 2012 and 2019.
