The premiere of the lyric opera "Leningrad Novella" by Gennady Belov will take place on the stage of the Musical Comedy Theater (St. Petersburg). The audience will be able to enjoy a musical and historical production created with the participation of the soloists of the Musical Comedy Theater under the direction of People's Artist of Russia Yuri Alexandrov. The author of the musical score, composer Gennady Belov, wrote the Leningrad Novella in 1974, which makes this performance special, because 2024 marks the 50th anniversary of its creation.
The libretto, written by Tatyana Kramarova based on the story by V. V. Uspensky "Around the Chernyshev Bridge", tells a touching story of two lovers intertwined with the fate of Leningrad during the Great Patriotic War. The plot is based on the Chernyshev Bridge, which witnessed the tragedies of the Leningraders. Will the heroes be able to overcome all the challenges and meet at least once on the bridge frozen in granite?
