The play "The Master and Margarita", staged on the stage of the Moscow Art Theatre named after A.P. Chekhov, became an important event in the world theatre space. The premiere, timed to coincide with the 120th anniversary of the great Russian writer Mikhail Bulgakov, took place in 2011.

The creators of the stage version of this cult novel, one of the most mysterious works of the 20th century, transferred its action to modern Moscow, to the space of the capital's metro. Hungarian director Janos Szasz, known for his successful projects in theater and cinema, presented his interpretation on the stage of the Moscow Art Theater.

The performance "The Master and Margarita" was warmly received by both critics and spectators. Oleg Tabakov, who headed the theater at the time, emphasized that the director managed to convey the greatness of love and show how love inspires talent to fight the world. After all, it is thanks to Margarita's love that the Master continues his work.
