The Mossovet Theater will present a performance based on unreal events - “Carlson”.

This unusual character lives in a completely ordinary house, on a completely ordinary city street. Upstairs, in a small house behind a large chimney, is a gentleman named Karlsson - in his own words, a handsome, intelligent, incredibly plump man in the prime of his life.

Karlsson does whatever Karlson wants - he eats all the sweets himself, always chooses the biggest piece of cake and loves to play pranks and scare people. He is convinced that he is the best at everything, and is not shy about telling everyone about it. He loves to receive gifts and do all sorts of pranks, and if something breaks or disappears, then these are just material things - there is nothing to be sad about. The kid loves Karlsson, but his mom, dad and older siblings insist he made him up.

A kind, cheerful performance full of music and eccentricities based on Astrid Lindgren’s story “The Kid and Carlson” will immerse adults in the nostalgically wonderful world of childhood. For young viewers this will be a funny adventure, touching and unpredictable. This wonderful story came from the pages of the books of the Swedish writer, and on this day it will take place on stage.

Astrid Lindgren wrote her first big fairy tale, Pippi Longstocking, in 1944 at the suggestion of her daughter. She fell ill with pneumonia and lay in bed for several months, and Astrid began to tell her made-up stories before bed. One day her daughter asked for a fairy tale about Pippi Longstocking, then Astrid began to compose tales about a girl who did not obey any rules. The period from 1944 to 1950 was the most productive for the writer. Over the course of several years, a series of books about Pippi Longstocking, two stories about children from Bullerby, three books for girls, a detective story, two collections of fairy tales, a collection of songs, four plays and two picture books were published.
