About event
On the stage of the Mossovet Theater, viewers will see the new play “The Thunderstorm Has Passed,” staged by Andrei Maksimov based on the play by Dmitry Merezhkovsky.
At the time of writing the play, Dmitry Merezhkovsky was still a very young man and was just beginning his first steps in literature. Years will pass before his name enters the galaxy of famous Russian classics. For this reason, his play “The Thunderstorm Has Passed” is full of naivety, faith in the bright and good, languor and expectation. At the same time, it has bright and well-defined characters, strong images that are etched in the memory, and, of course, a plot that touches the living, dynamic and fascinating.
Andrei Maksimov, the director of the play, noted that he considers the Silver Age a real theatrical genre, worthy of being highlighted in the same way as tragedies, comedies, farces and other independent genres are distinguished. Its subtlety, melodiousness, anticipation of a thunderstorm, and sublimity prompted Maximov to put the narrative of the play in the form of a romance. The music of the composer Igor Kartashev, as well as the scenography and stunning costumes of the artist Anastasia Bugaeva create for the viewer a special world of the Silver Age, from which it is simply impossible to take your eyes off.
