Bat in Moscow, Operetta Theater

The play "The Bat" staged at the Moscow Operetta Theater based on the farce of the German playwright Julius Benedix "Imprisonment" (1851) and the vaudeville of French playwrights Henri Meillac and Louis Halévy “New Year’s Eve” (1872).

The performance was directed by Georgy Ansimov, People's Artist of the USSR.

Under his leadership, the following cast is involved: Elena Zaitseva, People's Artist of Russia, Alexander Markelov, People's Artist of Russia, Vyacheslav Ivanov, Honored Artist of Russia, Anna Novikova, Ekaterina Chudotvorova, Olga Belokhvostova, Alexander Kaminsky, Maxim Katyrev, Vladislav Stashinsky and others.

This version of the musical has a number of differences, for example, from widescreen productions or the theatrical production at the Vienna Theater An der Wien. in 1872, both in plot twists and in clarifying stage roles. But the main thing is that it – this is what, according to all classical rules, the musical genre dominates over the spoken one.

In general, the rich outfits of the actors, their evening wardrobes, form portraits of stage characters, which, in turn, makes the musical unique.

Premiere of the musical "The Bat" took place on October 9, 2015 on the stage of the Moscow State Academic Operetta Theater.
