About event

On the stage of the Mossovet Theater “The Idiot” is a play by Yuri Eremin based on the novel by F. M. Dostoevsky.

Yuri Eremin knows how to stage classical works so that they are close and understandable to the modern viewer, dynamic and interesting. The biblical story that F.M. Dostoevsky masterfully transferred it to the Russian realities of the nineteenth century, in Eremin’s production it becomes close and relevant today.

The director added dynamics to the performance and added spice to the plot, but managed to leave behind the deep moral and philosophical content of the novel. According to his idea, Myshkin, just like Dostoevsky, is at the epicenter of the destructive passions of the society surrounding him. He also becomes a victim of love rivalry between two such different, extraordinary women.

The intensity of passions, the brilliant cast, the amazing play of actors who are not acting, but living on stage, everything that happens to their characters keeps the viewer in suspense. The production will certainly appeal to both lovers of the classics in their purest form, as well as those who advocate searching for “fresh influences” in what has long been studied and known.
