The play "Woman and the Brain" on the Second Stage of the BDT attracts the attention of viewers thanks to the original production of director Kirill Vytoptov. This play is part of the experimental project "Four. Contemporary Directing at the Kamennoostrovsky Theatre" and has already won the public's recognition.
The main character, Zina, a 37-year-old journalist, writes a column for a popular glossy magazine and dreams of becoming a great writer. Her posts on social networks are popular, but great literature remains inaccessible. There are several key characters in Zina's life: her best friend Sonya, known as Rapunzel, her easy-going programmer husband Mitya, and her mother-in-law Tatyana Yakovlevna, a woman with a strong character and inexhaustible energy.
However, Zina's most important companion is her Brain. In the play, the Brain is presented as a respectable older man who constantly grumbles and demands serious literary achievements from Zina. He is wise and sarcastic, his advice and comments are sometimes annoying, but always aimed at getting Zina to start writing a novel. The sudden appearance of graphic designer Kolya in her life adds new colors to this dynamic story.
