Performance "Man" at the Bolshoi Drama Theater. G. A. Tovstonogov is a unique creative work based on the book by Viktor Frankl, a famous Austrian psychologist who survived the torment of Auschwitz. The book “Say Yes to Life: Notes of a Psychologist who Survived a Concentration Camp” recognized as one of the most significant works on human psychology in the 20th century. Philosopher Karl Jaspers called this book one of the greatest human creations.
Performance "Man" is a reflection on the themes raised in Frankl's book: about dignity and inner freedom, about the problem of choice and the ability to remain human in inhumane conditions. The director of the play is Tomi Janezic, a famous Slovenian director who, according to critics, is one of the leading European directors of the new generation.
The performance involves artists from the Bolshoi Drama Theater. G. A. Tovstonogov of several generations, including People's Artist of Russia Valery Degtyar, Honored Artists of Russia Tatyana Bedova and Evgeny Chudakov, as well as Nina Alexandrova, Anton Schwartz, Varvara Pavlova, Boris Pavlovich and other theater actors and musicians.
