The plot of the play «Ruy Blas» at the Andrei Mironov Theater attracts attention with its temptation. The virtuoso and theatrical twists and turns are so diverse that the script of this work became the basis for the creation of independent works by other authors, including musical performances.
Thus, initially Don Cesar de Basan, a character in «Ruy Blas», became the main character of the play by A. d'Ennery and F. Dumanoir «Don Cesar de Bazan». And in Leningrad in the 60s of the twentieth century, the great artist Vladimir Chestnokov, brothers Nikolai and Sergei Boyarsky, and also Fyodor Nikitin shone on the stage of the V. F. Komissarzhevskaya Drama Theater. Subsequently, this work was filmed in 1957.
The performance at the Andrei Mironov Theater is dedicated to the memory of Vladislav Ignatyevich Strzhelchik, a remarkable Leningrad artist who played in the play «Old-Fashioned Comedy» not only at the BDT Theater, but also at the Mironov Theater.
