But Valentina's pure and passionate love for Investigator Shamanov destroys this fragile world, changing the lives of all the characters.
Alexander Vampilov's play "Last summer in Chulimsk" became the last in his work. The scene of the play resembles the place where the playwright tragically died by drowning in Lake Baikal at the age of 35. This autobiographical note gives the performance a special depth and emotional intensity.
The play "Last summer in Chulimsk" was nominated for the highest theater award of St. Petersburg "Golden Spotlight" in the 2014-2015 season in three categories: "Best Female Role" (Elizaveta Nilova for the role of Valentina), "Best Male the role" (Alexander Kudrenko for the role of Shamanov) and "The best work of the artist" (Alexander Orlov for the set design). The play also became a participant in the XI International Theater Festival of Modern Drama named after A. Vampilov, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the playwright and V. Rasputin.
