About event
The play “Girls” will take place in St. Petersburg. This sincere, cheerful and romantic production will be rich in musical and choreographic numbers that fully correspond to the spirit of that time. One of the most popular films of the 60s, it was also based on the story of the same name by Boris Bedny. It was directed by Yuri Chulyukin, and the main role was played by Nadezhda Rumyantseva.
The work of the "Baltic Theatre" – This is not an imitation of the legendary film, but a completely independent version of the film adaptation of the author’s work. More mature and dramatic than the USSR comedy. Young Tosa is 18 years old, she just graduated from culinary school and moved from the capital of the peninsula to work at the Ural timber industry enterprise. There she shares a dorm room with other girls, with whom, besides Anfisa, she quickly finds a common language.
In the evenings, the heroine goes to a local club, where she becomes enchanted by the “first guy” production – Ilya. Stage director – Alexander Kladko, sought to show the inner growth of the heroine and her transformation when she is faced with love feelings. Her childish naivety, simplicity and absurdity begins to gradually fade away. But will the girl be able to retain those unique qualities or will she be completely absorbed by another, adult life? The creators of the theatrical film say that “this is an attempt to tell a familiar story so that after watching the audience say: there is happiness!”
