The 24th International Conservatory Week festival will open with a grand opening at the Shostakovich Philharmonic, one of the leading concert halls in St. Petersburg. This event promises to be a vibrant musical celebration that will bring together talented performers and classical music lovers.
The festival will open with outstanding works by Sergei Prokofiev: Piano Concerto No. 2 and the oratorio Ivan the Terrible. Alexey Vasiliev will conduct the concert, and Miroslav Kultyshev will perform the piano part. The vocal parts will be performed by mezzo-soprano Anastasia Limanova and baritone Egor Sotov. The role of the reader will be entrusted to People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Burov.
The solemn ceremony of presenting the diploma and gown of the Honorary Professor of the St. Petersburg Conservatory to Nikolai Burov, a well-known public figure, attracts special attention.
Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N.A. Rimsky-Korsakov and choirs from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and Armenia.
