The concert "The Cannons Fired, the Muses Were Not Silent" at the Lensovet Community Center promises to be a significant event in the cultural life of St. Petersburg. The event is dedicated to the memory of Leningrad during the siege and its cultural heritage. The Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Igor Ponomarenko, the Children's Choir of Radio and Television of St. Petersburg and the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Western Military District will perform on the stage of the Lensovet Community Center. Theater and film artists will take a special part in the concert: Olga Krasnykh, Igor Karmanov, Vadim Vorobyov and Elena Kayadzhi. The author of the idea and director of the production is Denis Isakov.
The concert program will feature the memories of witnesses of the siege, as well as musical works that helped the residents of Leningrad to survive in difficult times. The symphony orchestra will perform world and Soviet masterpieces, including Shostakovich's 7th Symphony. The Children's Choir and the ZVO Ensemble will perform songs such as "Farewell, Favorite City", "Ladoga", "Medal for the Defense of Leningrad" and others.
