About event
The play "How I Ate a Dog" at the A.A. Bryantsev Young Spectator Theater is a unique production by Evgeny Grishkovets, which has been attracting the attention of the audience for more than two decades. The duration of the performance is 2 hours, during which the audience is immersed in the world of memories and reflections of the author.
Created at the end of 1998, the play became an innovative work in which Grishkovets uses the method of stringing life memories, creating a chain of precise and touching moments. Over the years, the play has undergone significant changes, reflecting the internal changes of the author himself. Now it is filled with a deep theme of growing up and realizing freedom through human interaction with the state.
"How I ate a Dog" is not just a set of life's little things, but a carefully constructed work that has become simpler, clearer and more tragic. The intonation changed, the voice became rougher, the gestures became more stingy and strict, but the laughter in the hall remained, although it acquired a different shade.
During its long history, the play has been awarded two prestigious awards "Golden Mask" in the nominations "Innovation" and "Critics Prize", which confirms its high artistic value.
