The music for the play was written by the Czech Wilhelm Spacek, the chief conductor of the Palace, who skillfully included famous musical themes in the score, from folk songs to Tchaikovsky's arias.

In 1938, the Musical Comedy Theatre settled in the Palace Theatre building, which remains the only professional operetta theatre in St. Petersburg to this day. In honor of the 110th anniversary of the opening of the Palace, the Musical Comedy Theatre decided to introduce the audience to the best examples of the repertoire of its predecessor.
