The play “The Fish Tsar” at the Bryantsev Theater is a production based on a collection of short stories by Viktor Astafiev. The director is Vladimir Kuznetsov, known for his work in various theaters in Russia and laureate of the. E. Evstigneeva. The production is based on the central short story of the collection, which brought the author all-Union fame and was awarded the USSR State Prize.

Meeting the King Fish symbolizes the struggle with internal demons and the search for forgiveness.
