St. Petersburg performing school. Through tradition to modernity in Saint Petersburg, State Academic Chapel

Concert «Petersburg Performing School. Through tradition to modernity» will take place on April 29 at the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg. This is a grand event organized by the «Constellation of Talents» project. St. Petersburg State Conservatory named after N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov.

The evening will be graced by a performance by the legendary State Academic Russian Orchestra named after V.V. Andreev under the direction of artistic director and chief conductor, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Dmitry Khokhlov and conductor Sergei Fedoseenko. This is an orchestra that celebrated its 135th anniversary last year.

The concert will be attended by both young and already famous musicians, laureates of international competitions, such as Anastasia Fedoseenko, Oleg and Rustam Gafarov, Natalya Churina, Anastasia Skokova, Lyubov Samatova, Pavel Shlyakov, Dmitry Pakhomov, Anna Kharchenko, Maxim Vovk , Luka Simic and Maxim Belnik.

The combination of folk instruments with instruments of a symphony orchestra will give a special highlight to the concert. Accompanied by the Chamber Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Conservatory, soloists will perform, as well as a unique group – unison of domristas and balalaika players of the St. Petersburg State Concert Hall under the leadership of Evgeniy Zhelinsky. The conductors will be Honored Artist of the Russian Federation Arkady Steinlukht and Ilya Sitkin.

The concert program will feature works by Russian and Western European composers, as well as arrangements of Russian songs and original music for folk instruments.
