The play “Grasshopper” at the Baltic House is a new production based on the story of the same name by A.P. Chekhov. Director Alexandra Mamkaeva, already known to viewers for the play “Dushechka”, again turned to the work of the great writer.
The main character of the play is Olga Ivanovna, a woman surrounded by high society. Her life is filled with actors, singers, artists and writers who assure her of her "talents" and future success. She does not notice her modest and unusual husband Osip Stepanych Dymov, who dedicated his life to working in hospitals. Olga starts an affair with one of her friends - a young artist. But she wonders how sincere his feelings are and whether she made a mistake not noticing her real husband.
"Grasshopper" is a tragicomedy about the price we pay for our mistakes. It tells how easy it is to replace the truth with a fake and how not every talent manifests itself brightly. True love can be modest and patient.
The performance will take place in the Baltic House - a cozy and comfortable place where spectators can enjoy high art and a unique atmosphere. Our website offers convenient and safe purchase of tickets for this event. You can buy tickets right now on our website.
