About event
The musical "The Ugly Duckling" from the Karambol Theater in the Recreation Center of the Leningrad City Council is a unique production inspired by the famous fairy tale by Hans—Christian Andersen. The performance, consisting of two acts, is a diploma winner of the Highest National Theater Award of Russia "Golden Mask", which confirms its high quality and artistic value.
The story told in the musical takes the audience into a world where the main character — a wonderful unprotected chick with a pure swan soul — faces rejection and ridicule from others. As in the original fairy tale, the characters of the play — birds and animals — embody real human types and situations. The Ugly duckling complex is created by a society that does not accept those who differ from the majority. But, as the play shows, true beauty and greatness can hide behind the external inconspicuousness.
The production involves both adult and young artists, as well as the ballet and orchestra of the St. Petersburg State Children's Musical Theater "Karambol". The artistic director of the theater is Honored Artist of Russia Irina Brondz, which guarantees a high level of performance and professionalism.
The musical "The Ugly Duckling" is not just a performance, but a deep and touching story about acceptance, self—identification and inner beauty. Don't miss the opportunity to immerse yourself in this magical world and see how the ugly duckling turns into a beautiful swan.
