Opening and gala concert of the Galina Vishnevskaya festival in Saint Petersburg, Great Hall of the Shostakovich Philharmonic

The Galina Vishnevskaya Festival, dedicated to the memory of the outstanding Russian singer, will open on December 8 in the Grand Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic named after D.D. Shostakovich. This significant event in the cultural life of the Northern capital will be held with the support of the St. Petersburg Committee for Culture and will bring together stars of world opera art on one stage.

The musical accompaniment will be provided by the Opera Singing Center Orchestra under the direction of conductor Artem Abashev. The concert program includes works by Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Donizetti, Puccini, Bizet, Kalman, Saint-Saëns, Massenet and Offenbach.
