Sergey Polunin

Description

Sergei Vladimirovich Polunin was born on November 20, 1989 in Kherson.

The future star of Russian and world ballet showed talent and interest in choreography at an early age. From the age of 4 he was engaged in gymnastics, and at the age of 8 he already entered a dance school, from where he transferred to a choreographic school in Kyiv. At the age of 13, he became a prize-winner at the prestigious Serge Lifar ballet competition and, at the invitation of the Nureyev Foundation, moved to London. Here he entered the Royal Ballet School, and eventually joined its troupe, becoming the youngest premier.

Today he is a welcome guest on most of the world's largest theater stages. Provocative, bold, ambitious, Polunin takes part in high-profile world-class productions. Projects with his participation arouse great interest among viewers. Among them are the ballet "Rasputin", "The Master and Margarita", "A Little Silence", "Let's Rise" and dozens of other works of various scales and formats. To work on them, he draws inspiration from a variety of things: from works of literature and biographies of great personalities to contemporary events.
