Nadezhda Babkina is an outstanding Soviet and Russian folk and pop singer, actress, TV and radio host, folk song researcher, teacher, as well as a political and public figure. Since 1992, she has held the honorary title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, and is also a People's Artist of the Chechen Republic (2010) and the Republic of Ingushetia (2012).
Nadezhda Babkina is the founder and permanent artistic director of the vocal ensemble "Russian Song", which was created in 1974. Under her leadership, the ensemble reached significant heights, becoming one of the leading groups in the field of folk music.
