Arman Tsarukyan

Arman Tsarukyan — an outstanding Armenian and Russian mixed martial arts fighter, performing in the lightweight division under the auspices of the UFC. Born on October 11, 1996 in the Armenian-populated city of Akhalkalaki, Georgia. From an early age he was engaged in freestyle wrestling, and also played hockey for the Amur youth team. After being rejected from the main cast of "Amur" Arman switched to grappling and began training at the Lion Heart club.

Tsarukyan’s professional career started on September 25, 2015 at the MFP: Assault Night on Spassk 2015 tournament. He successfully competed in the RFC, OFS and Modern Fighting Pankration promotions, fighting with such opponents as Alexander Belykh and Dmitry Shkrabiy. On October 28, 2017, Armand defeated Kyung Pyo Kim at Road FC 043, bringing his incredible fight to the attention of MBC Sports+.

In 2018, Tsarukyan defended his MFP champion title and won the Kunlun Fight Asian champion title. His successes did not go unnoticed: Russian President Vladimir Putin repeatedly congratulated Arman on his achievements.

March 20, 2019, Arman signed a contract with the UFC for 4 fights. His debut fight against Islam Makhachev became the fight of the night at UFC Fight Night: Overeem vs. Oleinik. Despite the defeat, Arman became the first opponent of Makhachev to score a takedown on him.

Among Tsarukyan’s other significant victories — defeating Olivier Aubin-Mercier at UFC 240, as well as defeating Davi Ramos at UFC Fight Night: Figueiredo vs. Benavidez 2. In 2021, Armand defeated Matt Frevola, scoring ten takedowns in one fight.
