The Belarusian youth team has a rich history. The best result at the World Championships was 9th place in 2001 and 2002. The team also managed to return to the elite division after a long break and played in the first division of the World Cup from 2007 to 2015.
The Belarusian national team was created in 1992 and barely made it into group “C” at the qualifying tournaments. However, thanks to their talent and perseverance, the team was able to reach Group B and show excellent results. In 1997, Belarusians won the tournament and for the first time entered the top ten best youth teams in the world.
The Belarusian youth team continued to fight for a place in the elite, moving between the first division and the top division. In 2015, the team again won the right to compete in the elite division at the World Championships in 2016. Despite the poor results in the group matches, these young hockey players showed their passion and dedication to the game.
