Description

Activity: sportsman

The Kazakhstan youth ice hockey team is a team that proudly represents Kazakhstan at international youth hockey tournaments. Managed by the Kazakhstan Ice Hockey Federation (KHF), this team brings together the most talented and promising young hockey players in the country.

The success story of the Kazakhstan Youth Team began in 1998, when they first entered the elite division. It was in Helsinki, where the Kazakhs showed their potential by beating the Slovaks 5-2 and reaching the quarter-finals. Although they lost to the Finns 14-1 in the quarterfinals, the Kazakhs still showed their strength by beating the Canadians 6-3 in the 7th place match.

Over the next years, the Kazakhstan Youth Team continued to show its potential and achieved significant results. In 1999, they reached the quarterfinals for the second time, but lost to the Canadians. In 2000, Kazakhstan also reached the quarterfinals, but lost to the Czech Republic.

After a four-year stay in the elite division, Kazakhstan temporarily left it in 2001. However, after six years in the first division, they returned to the elite division again in 2007.

Since that time, the Kazakhstan Youth Team continues to fight on the international stage, representing their country with pride. In 2018, after nine years in the first division, they took first place and returned to the elite division again in 2019.
